Governance
- The GMRA is coordinated by a Board chaired by Dr Mike Burrows (CEO, Salford PCT). There are three sub-committees, supporting the Board.
- The Research Governance Committee (chaired by Prof Jonathan Cooke, Director of R&D, South Manchester Hospital Trust) shares best practice on research governance and identifies and takes forward ideas for improvement. Outputs from this group include the pan-Manchester R&D Approval Process and the Research Passport (through which an honorary contract in one NHS Trust is transferable to other Trusts in Greater Manchester).
-
The Operational Group (chaired by Prof Sir Robert Boyd, Greater Manchester NHS Director of R&D) which takes forward the development and implementation of the Board's R&D strategy.
-
The Information Technology Group (chaired by Angela Ball, R&D Manager, Christie Hospital NHS Trust) works towards streamlining health R&D IT systems across Manchester.
